by personal Recovery in 1983 and inspired by others, John Harden began working with other young people in treatment at age
19. John was accepted into the prestigious Baylor-Parkside Counselor Training Program in 1987 and subsequently completed Texas
certification and licensure in Addictions Counseling in 1988. Continuing to train and work at Baylor-Parkside from 1987 to
1992, John completed a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Texas at Dallas. John also trained in community education, program
management and acquired subspecialty certifications in eating disorders and outpatient therapy with Baylor-Parkside. Returning
to Tampa to enroll in a dual masters program in Clinical Social Work (MSW) and Public Health (MPH) at the University of South
Florida, John completed both degrees with honors in 1996 while working in the private sector as a Psychiatric Social Worker.
Today, Mr. Harden is the Chief Clinical Officer of HealthCare Connection, a prominent, nationally recognized 80-bed
treatment/extended-treatment, full-continuum facility, in Tampa. Since 1998, he has been inspired by the mission of founder,
David Myers, M.D., evaluating and treating addiction and dual diagnosis in Physicians and other healthcare practitioners in
the State of Florida and nationally. Mr. Harden specializes in evaluation, treatment and ongoing supportive monitoring of
Physicians and other healthcare professionals in Recovery. He is an approved clinical evaluator, interventionist and local
facilitator for the Florida Professionals Resource Network (PRN) and Florida Intervention Project for Nurses (IPN), as well
as the Florida Department of Health. Additionally, Mr. Harden is the Executive Director of the Florida Society of Addiction
Medicine, Clinical Site Director for the University of Florida, Department of Psychiatry Addiction Medicine Fellowship Program
at HealthCare Connection and the Medical Services Contracts Administrator for Dr. Myers Professional Association.

facilitator. Mr. Harden has worked in the field of addiction treatment since 1985, becoming a Certified Addiction Professional
in 1987.
